Ann Arbor Temple
The Ann Arbor temple is an urban temple surrounded by a large garden with a meditation area and large trees. We offer daily meditation practice, weekly courses in meditation and yoga, and monthly retreats. Public Services are on Sunday at 9:30 am and 4 pm. We also offer Buddhist Peace Camp, a life of the Buddha study series, and special services throught the year which include Buddha's Birthday Celebration, Buddha's Enlightenment All-Night Sitting, Ullambana Day, and more. Funeral and wedding services are conducted. Please check our calendar.
Resident priest, Rev. Haju Sunim was ordained a priest in 1991 by Ven. Samu Sunim, and was recipient of his Dharma transmission in July, 1999. A single mother raising two daughters and a student of Ven. Samu Sunim's since 1978, she is the overall residential caretaker for the temple and its programs. She also conducts services, teaches courses, and leads retreats. (see also: Teachers)
Residential Opportunities: The temple offers the Visitor's Program for people who want to spend some time living in the temple to cultivate their practice. The residents participate in temple programs in the mornings and/or evenings while maintaining their job or studies.
