Toronto Temple

Zen Buddhist Temple¡ªToronto is the first temple founded by the Society. Now, located in the heart of the city near the University of Toronto, Kensinton Market, and China town. The temple offers services and meditation instruction for urbanites leading a hectic life. It serves as a spiritual community for friendship and support as well as a monastery for cultivation and training. Every Sunday we offer public meditation services at 9:30 am and 4 pm. [notice: No Sunday services on July 5] We have daily, weekly and seasonal schedules for training students, members and the community. We also offer introductory meditation courses and retreats throughout the year.

Residential Opportunities: The temple offers the Visitor's Program for people who want to spend some time living in the temple to cultivate their practice. The residents participate in temple programs in the mornings and/or evenings while maintaining their job or studies.

Becoming part of the community: Temple Membership

Becoming Buddhist: Precept-Taking Ceremony on July 4.
